Granny Squares Update...ever so close!

I was able to make a few more of those beautiful granny squares that I need to make a large granny square quilt, using Lori Holt fabrics and pure white. IOW, I’m not using a low volume as the background fabric in the individual squares.

This time I added 23 blocks to my collection of completed squares.

I need a total of 182 and now I have 159. This means I need 23 more!

Amazing!

These are so pretty.

I’m getting so close to being able to put this one together that I’m starting to internally panic that I’ve still not chosen my sashing. I simply don’t have a LOT of any one fabric, which is why I often use scraps. I’ve actually thrown that around as well. On EQ, where I drew out this design, it says I will need 2-3/4 yards of that one fabric.

This is the layout I will use. However, the color of the sashing is not fully decided yet. Like many things when I get close to the end, I often want to work long and hard on them to just finish them up.

However, when finish up the blocks, I then HAVE to make a decision about the sashing….hmm.

23 more blocks

The total blocks are shown here.

I probably won’t report again until I finish those last 23. I may do a last recount to make sure I didn’t miscount and lack one. Can you imagine the frustration of coming to the end of the piecing of the top and lacking one block?

Hmm. Maybe that kind of thing has happened before. Maybe?

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
