My Husband Has Been Away Again (Teaching)

My husband came back from Central Asia and just came back, today (Friday), from the Republic of Georgia. Thankfully this time I haven’t been sick. I’m so grateful. The other time I was really feeling poorly, but now I’m okay - pretty much 95% of normal, and I’m so thankful.

Thursday morning we had our first snow that actually showed up on the grass, though we’ve had some moments of snow mixed with some rain.

Note, I didn’t say we got a LOT of snow! :) It was gone by about 10:30 am. However, we are expecting more snow in the days to come.

However, I keep waiting for some nice dry (warm or cold) days so I can get some more pictures of finished quilts since I like to take the photos outside on the line. I have been finishing up quilts - trying to quilt one a day at least this week. I’ve had so many fun tops finished this year that I’ve wanted to finish them by quilting so I’ve been really trying to focus on that since getting the charity quilts done.

So far I’ve not scheduled the give-away - and that was for several reasons - the most important being the month of October into November I didn’t feel well - (pretty much til half way through November). By now I’m back to strength, but then with my husband gone, I didn’t want to schedule it without him around. A lot of people around here also have been sick - and I do need help from others.

And maybe I’ve just been procrastinating, I don’t know.

However, the lady who asked me for 10 quilts about 2 months ago just made contact and it turns out SHE has been sick - the whole month.

She’s supposed to come today (Friday) to pickup ten quilts for people in her area - about 45 minutes from our house. I’m glad because I’ve had those quilts sitting off to the side in my living room. It does help to take a long term look at things and not just “gotta get it done TODAY” type of thing like typical Americans. I’ve found that Polish people tend to be much more patient about things than we Americans are.

These are super large 22 1/2” blocks - so I only need 12.

I’ve been working a bit on some other blocks. Let me share one with you.

I’m featuring snow skiing or snow blocks in these tv shapes because I do enjoy watching alpine skiing during the winter months.

In the summer, I do like to watch baseball, but I don’t have many fabrics featuring baseball scenes. I have a lot more of the snow/skiing. Thanks to Rachael.

Many of these fabrics are from this bundle pack that they called Wintertime Joy by Quilting treasures. It looks like this.

So there - that’s a bit of what I’ve been doing.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
