Mystery quilt clue #4 finished - Edyta Sitar's Mystery, that is

I did finish this clue - and it was an easy one this week.

I had thought I would start to put the top together after this clue, but have decided to wait til clue 5 is done because that one is really nice and will make a big difference in how this top-in-progress looks.

So…here are the pieces. I only had 8 blocks to put together so I’ve already started working on Clue 5 - which, at the writing of this blog post simply means I’ve cut out the pieces.

I know making a so-called mystery quilt after the fact means it isn’t a mystery. At least it allows me to make some decisions about the placement of the fabrics so that hopefully I won’t end up with a hot mess!

That is my hope, anyway. I know the thrill of making a mystery is not knowing what you are doing and hoping it comes out fine anyway. However, to me, especially when I’m using special fabrics (as these are), I do not want to waste them. I want the quilt to be beautiful.

I’m using the line by Fancy That Design house called Foraged Found and Hand Me Down by Stephanie Slewinski/Moda. I really do like the line and want this quilt to be special.

If you are interested in any of this fabric, we have quite a bit of it here.

From now on, the blocks will get to be more extensive as we work our way to larger sections of the quilt. Naturally on a medallion type quilt the center can be easier and faster. The outer edges are slower but you can start to see some amazing designs come about as you make your way to the edges.

Just you wait. If you don’t know what this one looks like, just stay with me and I’ll show you.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about - I’m referring to Edyta Sitar’s Mystery 2025 quilt which she has named Tennessee and the clues are found on her blog. I just linked to the clue number 4 which this one is - so you can check it out of if you are interested.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
