Milton Hit!

I hope that Rachael gets to write a blog post about her experience, but I know that you all are wondering what in the world happened to us in Dade City!

Let me just say that everyone is alive and well. All buildings and structures are not, however.

Various people associated with our store had numerous trees down in their yards or houses and many, many roads were blocked until those with chain saws could get things cleaned up.

As of 8 am on the morning after the hurricane went through, people were out with saws and tractors and human power getting to work on cleanup.

Let me show you a few of the pictures - and I’ll focus on showing you my mom’s house. I am hoping Rachael can share with you later what she is going through and what she HAS gone through in this storm.

Thankfully at mom’s it was mainly limbs. She did have damage to a shed that houses outdoor equipment though it is mostly empty these days.

Rachael did spend the night with mom as mom lives by herself.

Here are a few places in mom’s yard.

oops! Thankfully it didn't quite reach the house!

Here is how my mom’s front pasture looked back in March.

But now these are photos from her front pasture sent by Rachael.

Because I’m over here in Poland I cannot properly explain what happened, so I will just say that thankfully most of the damage for all of us was downed trees and broken limbs. We’ll be in touch later when Rachael has emotional energy and time to fill us in better on more details.

Thank you so much for coming along with me/us on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
