Next Granny Squares Update

In spite of working very very hard on charity quilts in the last couple of weeks I did make some time to work on some granny squares using 1.5” squares. These are small squares as they are trimmed down to 6.5”.

Here are some photos of my work on these granny squares.

So now I am getting ever so slowly to the goal which is 182.

Ever.so.gradually.

But because of all the things happening around here lately, I’m glad to be making any progess at all.

This particular group was a group of 24 new squares.

I am marching ever closer to that coveted number. And I still have to choose the color of my sashing. I really wanted something a bit lighter - with some white in it - but not pink. I want it to be less feminine and something I could feasibly use on our own bed. It will be cheerful, I’m sure. I’m really leaning towards blue - something I already have— along with darker blue cornerstones. I suppose it is time to decide.

But I’m really liking these blocks!

When I trim these blocks, I just do the best I can to get the granny square centered.

Here are the new ones all laid out for me to see.

Here is my pile/s of the blocks that are finished now.

These are so fun. I don’t know why I like making these blocks, but I do! I am doing a 13x14 layout.

Once again - the layout is going to look like this. I will make the sashing and cornerstones at 1.5” cut so they will finish at 1”. This is a layout but obviousy I have way more colors than shown.

Now it is time for me to get the next group of squares so I can make some more blocks. I’m starting to feel the end in sight!

Thanks so much, once again, for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading!
