Beautiful Quilts in Jacksonville, FL at the Quilt Fest

On Friday, September 20, we shut it all down here at Quilted Twins, and Ken and I went to Jacksonville. We had been told that the power company needed to shut off the power. We had other staffing issues, and we just decided to lock the door, hold the mail until Monday and go and enjoy the show.

We have been invited and encouraged to set up there next year, but we had never been there, and needed to see if it would be worthwhile!

Here are some of the beautiful quilts that we saw there.

Art quilts were amazing, and the show was abundant with them!

This dog was our favorite, although it did not win the best in the show!

Below you’ll see many art quilts. The ladies and gentlemen who entered in this show were amazing. The first self portrait was especially stunning. I asked around, and they said that she was an artist herself. Not just a quilter.

Below you’ll see the grand champion of the entire show. Her quilt was made of silk.

Below you’ll see lots of the stunning Judy Niemeyer and Jacquelyn DeJong quilts that people love to create! They never cease to amaze me, no matter how many times I see them.

Hundreds of quilts lined the inside of the Convention Center. We didn’t even begin to see them all. But what we saw truly amazed us! Below are just some of the beauties inside.

Applique is a huge part of these quilt shows. This one was no exception. The applique was incredible. Several of them are shown below.

All in all, it was a beautiful show with outstanding quilts. However, I did wonder if we missed what you and I would call the “normal” quilts. Perhaps we didn’t go down those aisles. Perhaps people who make quilts like I do don’t enter in these shows.

But it was lovely to be challenged to do more, better and different things!

I hope you enjoyed the virtual show!

Thank you, Rachael, for sharing these with us!

And thanks to all of you for coming along with us on this journey!
