The Weekend Gala Celebration was a Huge Hit

Saturday, May 6, 2023, was a day that will be long remembered: Our Gala Celebratory Party at Quilted Twins was absolutely amazing.

We had 243 people who came and signed up and who each received 5 free tickets to enter into the drawings.

We had set up the 31 brown bags and put the items in front of the bags so that people who came could put their tickets inside.

Pat checked out what the items were for the drawing!

People who came in, deposited their tickets on the way in. if they wanted to shop, they then took their receipt back outside afterwards, and gave it to Julie and Carla, manning that portion of the give-away, who gave them more tickets!

Everyone loves free! And the chance to win is just FUN!!!!!!!!!

Outside, in the parking lot, we had volunteers who set up and distributed snacks, cookies, beverages, including Coke, Diet Coke, Lemonade, water and more.

Delicious goodies were available for all who came!

We had sugar free cookies, full strength cookies and delicious brownies, as well as pin wheels and bagel pizzas! It was a lot of fun.

As people poured into the building, it was far too busy for any of us to stop and take pictures, but when I did manage to get away from the spots where I was stationed, I did get some people. Everyone was in a partying mood.

We did have the Trunk Show by Annie showing. Julie Harris, the Quilted Twins “Bag Lady” had set that up last week, so it would be ready for the event.

Those bags and items are shown here!

Julie Harris had set up the Trunk Show the week before!

After the store closed, around 4:30 p.m., we did the live drawing on FB and YouTube for the INSTORE winners. We haven’t started contacting the winners to get their winnings yet! Thankfully, it’s non expiring goods, so they’ll still be wonderful whenever we get them to their winners!

We’ll announce when we do the ones for the online orderers.

We are sorry that more people didn’t win. However, we know that everyone was able to come in, enjoy the day, and get some free food, and just relax and have a great time.

I’ve never seen so many smiles, heard so much laughter and enjoyed a ridiculously busy day as much as I did on Saturday!

Thanks to all who came out and made it fun. It wouldn’t have been nearly as much fun if you all wouldn’t have supported it!

Of course, we couldn’t have done it without our staff and volunteers!

Julie spearheaded the outside, with her team of volunteers: Carla, Leanne, Debra, Pat, Marlene and Sandi, along with our teams INSIDE of Margaret, Jessica, Sarah, Ken and me!

Thanks to all who put this one down in the history books!

We haven’t done the drawing for the online orders yet - but that will be soon!

We will be notifying the winners via this blog and other ways as well! Don’t worry - we haven’t forgotten - but Rachael has to deal with the instore winners first lest she lose the bags with the associated prizes. :) She told me she’d let me know when she was ready for the names of the online contestants (I have gotten them ready to give her so all they have to do is cut them apart, put them in a jar or box or bin or something, and start drawing. - Becky)

Thanks for reading this far and thanks so much for coming along with us on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
