Bananas in the backyard tree...

My mom has a couple of banana trees on her property.

There was definitely something living in that tree. When I got close to it to take a picture, the noises became much more intense.  Knowing that FL has all manner of poisonous creatures, I didn't want to get too close!

They were hit a bit hard by Irma. She only has two bunches of bananas on them, but both had more or less caused the branches that they were on to break and they hit the ground. Well, almost. There are branches sort of keeping the bananas from actually hitting the ground. These are supposed to be high up in the air, by the way!

They aren't normally hitting the ground, but the weight of the bananas caused the branch to break.

I was very disappointed that they weren't ripe when I was there.  These are so delicious!

And I know that this isn't quilting in Poland - it's bananas in Florida - but I just had to show you! It's always more fun to see what's not in your own back yard, isn't it?

And while I'm back in Poland working on some charity quilts, my sis is in Florida, near this banana tree!

Check out what she has for you!
