Happy Thanksgiving!
To all my USA based friends,
and
Yesterday I took my husband to the doctor once again. This time they removed the brace and put on a cast.
Oh wait, I did say I wouldn't say anymore about my husband's leg. I'm sorry, I lied. I didn't mean to, but I did. I just really want to share this process!
I asked if could take pictures. The doctor said "Yes".
Here's the process.
First, wrap the leg in a soft bandage - in this case it took three packs of bandages. This is going to be a long cast!
Then, once it all gets wrapped up, start putting on some of the cast material itself. Dip it in water and let it harden, rubbing the material to itself to form a nice hard shell.
And here he is - cast and all! Now it's something new to get used to!
So, today we are thankful for the cast.
I was also thinking about living back in Bible days. I wonder how people who got a broken leg survived then. Especially the children of Israel as they wandered around the wilderness for 40 years. That would have been tough. I suppose people just carried them around til they were well.
It made me thankful I live nowadays!
For those of you who are curious, this is what it cost -
Doctor's visit - 250 zl or $70 USD
x rays - 80 zl or $22 USD
supplies for cast - 330 zl or $93 USD
putting on the cast itself - 288 zl or $81 USD
medicine - 411 zl or $116 USD
So, all in all, it was a kind of expensive day at the doctor.
We are to go back December 13 to get the cast off .
Have a great day no matter where you are!
Don't forget - my sis has a Black Friday Special coming for you over in the shop area!
