"Frisky Boxes" - upcycled blues top number 9 finished
This was a quick and easy one. Not that many of these upcycled ones can be said to be quick an easy. There is just too much work involved in getting the supplies for a quilt to call even the simple ones "quick and easy". Taking the shirts/blouses and clothing apart means that there is more time involved in any one of these quilts than in one where you use yardage.
But after The Triple Irish Delight and Made Ya Look, I was really ready for something as quick and easy as I could.
Here it is
So how is this one different from anything I've done before? It's a small, but pretty important change - namely, the boxes are lopsided.
This is what they look like.
Laying it out might have been the hardest part as I was never quite satisfied of the mix of colors as I was trying to keep the same colors from touching. Thankfully there was no sashing and the blocks were rather large so they went together quickly.
I think this would be a really adorable pattern if the fabrics were cuter or prettier. As it is it is fine, but I think with blenders or even focus fabrics, it could be a real "wow" quilt.
For what it's worth, the pattern is here - Maybe someone can use it. It was a quick and easy top to put together.
Here's a review of the tops so far from my blues upcycled series. It's growing and growing. This is number 9 in the series. I thought I'd make about 7. I guess I should quit thinking like that!
And now you know - one of the latest blues tops I've finished.
