"Happy Days" top finished!
Quilt Number???
Number 61 in my series of quilts (in this case it's only a top) is finished!
But I don't have a name yet. If you had an idea you'd care to share, please put it here in the comments section or come over to Becky Quilts in the Old Country Facebook group and let me know. I'll be asking today and deciding soon on a name.
*Edited to add - I've chosen a name - Happy Days! Thanks for the suggestions! I really do appreciate them! I sometimes put them in my mind and might even make a quilt to match the name!
I chose Happy Days because of the design - floor tiles reminding us of days gone by and the confetti on the floor. The border looks like old timey barber poles - and for most of us, they were Happy Days - so take your choice - either the tv show from long ago or the days of long ago - Happy Days.*
A Little About The Quilt Border
I had originally laid this out with that border made by making blocks. But as I worked on the top, I kept thinking about how long it would take to paper piece such a border. I talked myself right out of that - as while I am amazed at the precision one can achieve with paper piecing, it seemed unnecessary for this particular border.
I wanted to figure out how to make a striped border without paper piecing.
I'll show you how I did it in the pattern when I get it finished (after I get a name).
Review: Quilting Accomplishment?
I'm nearing my goal of 21 more tops from 2" strips and scraps for the years 2017.
Hopefully this fall/winter I can get them all quilted - as I don't even try to do the quilting in the middle of the summer heat. When I finish up to quilt number 63 in this series, I will really feel like I've accomplished "something"! Well, OKAY, when I reach 100, then I will feel that I've done something!
I'm trying to use up my own strips and scraps and at the same time, share them with you just in case you have too many scraps that you want to use up in different ways.
I'm working on getting that pattern up - but I do need a name! Can you help?
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you over in the shopping section! She's always got something great going on over there!
