"Pinwheel Fantasy" - Upcycled Blues #48 quilt finished
I was kind of excited when I went to work on this one - knowing it was actually the last one I had left to quilt - I had actually finished up #50 before I did this one - check back tomorrow for the last one.
I had already posted about #48 quite a while ago.
Here it is - the day was overcast and cloudy, so no cool sunshine rays in the background.
I’ve been trying to show the backs on all of these. This one is a mishmash of things - some darker than others. The yellow is definitely a a 50/50 poly cotton and I was afraid I would mess it up because it was a bit slippery. But I spray glued it quite a bit and pinned extra.
Once again, I did swirls. While I can’t say I love them, at least I’m not afraid of them anymore. I want to learn now to add other things in with them. I love how they look. I want to make them better, of course!
For me these aren’t automatic, however, and unlike people who seem to just “feel the quilting” in their fingertips, I don’t. I have to learn it. But that’s really okay. I’m not particularly afraid of hard work.
Here is a close up of the section of 4 blocks that I put together with the light corners to the middle. This is supposed to be the “cool part” of this design.
I did have some leftover HST from other projects that I incorporated into this border - top and bottom.
Here is the center of the quilt. I really like the pinwheels! The shading - well, I did the best I could with what I had available.
I did update the pattern on the Free patterns page and the Upcycled Blues page. I know that you are probably tired of seeing these.
Sorry I didn’t spread them out for you - but did I mention it? I’m kind of excited to be getting finished!

With this one shown, I have one left - tomorrow’s post is the last one! Be sure to check back!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
