2020 Charity quilts - #111-120

Oh, but now I’m starting to get into some of the bigger ones we were given or made for charity. Up til now, they mostly have been the smaller size - but starting now and the next post - there will be many wonderful large quilts!

I want to give a special nod to people who give me big quilt tops! Sure they take longer to quilt, but they are wonderful! People will be so happy! I actually do give away a lot more of the singles - but I certainly can use the larger ones as well!

And if you look a certain quilt and it is your to, but it wasn’t a queen size - but now it is - well, that was probably because it was already about 65” wide - and I found it easy to add a finished 2” and then a finished 6” border. This made an additional 16” - which put it over 81” - and that makes the European double. So, that is what I did with several of these beauties!

You must know it’s a mighty special charity quilt if I quilt it with swirls - esp. dense ones! This is one of the quilts I wish I could have claimed as my own.

But I can’t. But these are “my natural colors” - all of them. At that - I’m in love with this quilt. Thank you, so much - dear donor!

Yes, I did add the outer two pastely borders - but I think they “go” well enough! It’s a fantastic quilt! A special lady (probably) will choose it.

As I’ve been quilting, I’ve also learned to love these colors - and my husband especially loves them. They are what makes him happy. I, too, wished I could have claimed this quilt also—but, I can’t. But I tried to quilt it in a way that would enhance the design. This one is a fantastic quilt and the colors are perfection. It will be chosen in a flash.

Oh…I did add the outer two borders so it would make a perfect large quilt!

This indicates as of the photo below, 129 quilts!

Here is the summary sheet I’ve been trying to keep up with!

The stacks are getting bigger.

The only thing from keeping them this small is that I’ve managed to give away several during this time period - from October til now - as the needs have arisen.

Otherwise, there would be probably over 150 quilts in here by now.

But that’s okay. While I like the satisfaction of seeing all this work in one place, at least for a while, the end purpose is to have them given away - to people - not all stacked up and pretty to look at!

I had to kind of fold the large ones in half and set them on the left. Because they are a different size, they don’t work well with the smaller ones in their stacks.

And then, as you see the stacks progress - from the beginning of the push - here it is!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
