End of the year - Mosaic in 1.5" update!

I’ve been able to sew again!

I’m so happy about it!

Remember this one?

I made good progress on this top. This one is made up of bricks that are 1.5”x2.5”. The design is the same as I’ve made elsewhere. It’s a fantastic scrap buster!

As of this photo, it is 79” long! Getting close. I want it to be around 100” long because It will draw up a bit when I quilt it!

It is now about 79” long. I was able to add two good sized chunks.

What I did was make up the strips first AND then I sewed together the first 15 or so together, and then the next ones together in a group. Then I laid them out on the floor in this photo - to double check the pattern one last time before sewing it on to the main part. Then, I sewed them together along those lines, pressed, and took more photos.

This pattern is such a good one for scraps - seriously! If you ever doubt it - just switch the colors and where the white is, make it black. Then, any other other color will work as the contrasting pieces.

It was very encouraging to get this much done!!! It gave me a real emotional “shot in the arm”!

I had some time right before Christmas to spend concentrated effort on this one.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
