2020 Charity quilts - #120-129

Wait!! Why MORE?

Did you think I was done? I probably should have been done with the last group - which totaled 120.

However, I had a few more left to do in order to finish up the tops I had in my possession.

This is the last of the group of charity quilts for this year. Good thing, huh?

Disclaimer - I found ONE more charity top in my sewing room when I cleaned it up. But my mind was already “done with” charity quilts for this year - so I’ll let it be the first one for 2021.

If it is yours, I’m sorry. I have a whole bunch of new ones that I received in 2020 - but they are slated to get finished in 2021. All of these were ones I received before the current year. That is why I was feeling the need to finish them up!

This group of quilts is amazing!! Well, most of them—the Spiderman ones are panels that I made up from the panel quilt layout that I usually use! And while I won’t call them “amazing”, they are always popular!

But the ones you all donated to me - well, simply amazing. I love each one of them!

When I saw this one up close, my jaw fell. Batiks”? A large quilt! So bold!

Why in the world did someone donate it?

They must be mighty special! I did have some batiks in these colors, so I added that outer border - to make it a super nice big quilt for some special couple! I am amazed at how this one turned out. So pretty!

And here we go - a wonderful scrappy quilt made from men’s shirts! Fantastic quilt - and I love it! Thank you so much for this wonderful donation and cool design. The shirts were wonderful to the touch - I really do like working with men’s shirts - they are silky smooth, or crinkly cotton feeling. So fun!

I did add an additional border to this one as well as it came it either 65” or 68” wide and it wasn’t hard to make it into a large quilt! I can’t wait to see who claims it as their own!

Check out the details on this one! I don’t think I quite realized what this one looked like as I worked on it. It wasn’t until I stepped back and took a photo that I saw it in al its glory! It was a case where as I worked on the trees, I didn’t see the forest until I took the photo on the table as shown below!

Looks like I barely got these done in time this year!!! These are the last for the year 2020.

This group of quilts is now sitting at 135. The only reason that there aren’t more is that I’ve taken some out to give away!

This is what it looks like as I looked backwards from the doorway. Very satisfying!!!

And here are the summary photos - starting with the beginning of the push in October. I hope you’ve enjoyed going on this journey of charity quilts 2020. I appreciate your cheering! It has been so helpful! When I grow weary, just know that some of you are saying, “You can do it!” is so encouraging! Thanks!

Stay safe! Have a fantastic New Year’s Eve all day today! I think we’re all pretty glad to see 2020 come to a close!
