Christmas Gift Quilt - a little Shadow Quilt
I showed you this top a while ago - I think back in late September…when I made the top. I had high hopes of finishing it well before Christmas as I wanted to use it as a gift.
Well, I did finish it before Christmas, but not “long before”. Seems like I’m always coming up with something else for myself to do! That really needs to change. I need to allow myself enough time to breathe and not always be looking for the next thing I can push myself so hard on.
Yeah.
I keep telling myself such things. The problem is, it is not likely to change!
Anyway…enough of that.
This one is done. I like it. I hope the young couple I give it to here in Poland likes it as well.
Other than that - there’s not a lot to say. Unlike about 99% of my quilts, this one is very much “the same” throughout. Because of that, it was a little bit boring - good thing it was small!
And even though boring- I did like the fabrics - so it is still pretty! The colors are deep and bold and just really nice!
Enjoy the photos.
I used loops to quilt it - and it didn’t take long to quilt this one.
Note: I’ve made quite a few shadow type quilts before so I don’t really think it is necessary to write the pattern for it - but let me show you the block. Then, if you have small-ish pieces of fantastically fun fabric you want to use - well, here is one idea - feel free to use it! I find the block easy, quick and always well-received.
And so…I really ended up liking this quilt. It’s simple - but it makes a statement and is refreshing to look at. It has been washed once, so I have confidence that the colors will stay like they are!
And now you know!! We’re well on our way getting back into the swing of things - just in time for Christmas!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
