I’m embarrassed that it has been so long since I’ve updated this one! Wow. I am just going to have to do better! Last update was 3 weeks ago!

But most of the time a quilt like this is a grind. At first I do it just to get going step by step - whether or not it is exciting - because I want a finished quilt - not because actually making it fills me with great excitement.

Then, at some point, things get interesting, because I start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m definitely not at that stage yet, but today when I laid out the top as it is now, though not half done yet, I am definitely liking it!

So, depending on what else I’m trying to do, you may see this grow a bit faster. I sure hope so! No promises, though! I’ve got a few other, more important things I really need to do in the next month - so we’ll see.

This is how it looks now!

I added three more rows this time. They are getting longer and longer naturally. For example, these three rows took 17, 19 and 21 16 patches for each row - so almost 60 little 16 patches were needed. But I’m finally starting to get some extra pieces ready to go so each time I want to make 16 patches, I already have some sewn together in various stages of construction.

This does make it go faster.

This is how it looked before I trimmed off the extra bits. This time I used my scissors to trim it but I will trim it more exactly as needed with a rotary cutter after quilting but before binding.
