It's Hard to Focus

To make a several week long story short, my mom landed in the hospital yesterday with COVID and double pneumonia.

We actually thought she was over the COVID as she seemed to be fever-free.

Rachael ended up taking her to the hospital on Thursday afternoon and being with her until they asked her to leave as they took mom to the COVID ward.

As a result, it’s been a flurry of information, updates and questions.

Rachael is the only one in the area, and now she’s out of the loop until they call or share information.

I know that many of you have been through sorrow upon sorrow in the last year. I’ve been quite blessed and haven’t had that.

I’m so far away - I feel completely helpless to help. The only thing I can do is spread the word and ask people to pray for mom.

Today also - (written on Friday) -

Here in Poland, a friend of ours, father of four and former coworker, at the age of 50, passed away from COVID-19. So, it’s hitting us hard right now.

And it’s making it very hard to focus!

I have things to do with quilting that are going on and that I’m getting a bit done. But, it is very hard to sit down and write about it. I can barely put a sentence together coherently! My mind is just flitting here and there!

So please forgive me today for letting this blog post be a little bit personal.

My mom is 88 - this year she’ll be 89. She’s been very healthy - so much so that she didn’t even know where her thermometer was in her house!

Those of you who pray - I’m asking you to pray for her. Specifically - that her heart rate would slow back down and that the medicine would begin to tackle the pneumonia! Her name is Emma.

I appreciate it so much!

Until then, I’ll try to do something productive with the energy I’ve got.

Thanks! Appreciate you all!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
