"Back Nine" Golf quilt

The first quilt that my sis wanted me to make when I landed was this one. She had a whole stack of beautifully coordinated golfing themed fabrics and wanted the same quilt design as the You Are My Sunshine.

And so I did.

We discussed which colors/fabrics she wanted and let me go at it.

After the initial quilt - this one - she then had me make another and then another. You’ve seen one of them - the Welcome to the Beach kit is a result of the ensuing ones.

But this was the first one. There are so many golfers in our area that we do think this one is going to go well here in Florida. The quilt seems to have a lot of white in it as the background fabrics do have a lot of white/gray, but in real life, the quilt is quite vibrant and colorful. Your loved one will like it!

She is making up kits so that many can enjoy what we did here. Her kit is available here!

The quilting was done by Jeff and Diane, local long arm quilters from Lakeland, FL, that we’ve used before. We decided on circles to more or less imitate golf balls. Diane also will finish your quilt by binding it - as she did with this one.

Enjoy the photos!

A lot of seniors in this part of the USA play - as we have golf courses everywhere it seems. Many of the local trailer parks have a golf course in the center where the men can go play daily!

I will admit that I’ve not been golfing (other than miniature golfing!) My husband has tried to get my to try it. However, I didn’t want to take up a hobby that forced me to leave home and pay to play. I actually have wanted a basketball hoop - on our own property. I can see myself throwing a basketball before I can see myself golfing! However, I know there are a lot of lady golfers and we have fabric celebrating them. This particular panel would work for either men or women!

Anyway….

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!

Thanks for coming along on my quilting journey with me!

And as usual - or at least I try to make it as usual - the quilt roll! This is my mom’s beautiful table which she’s had since I was a teenager.
