“The Questioning”

We originally decided to come to the states in May because our son, Daniel, was going to get married. At the same time, we knew our oldest son, Jeremiah, was wanting to get ordained and it had been postponed a couple of times.

So, we discussed it, and they decided to plan the questioning to coincide with the wedding for our sake - so our son could get ordained while we were here. It allowed us to participate and observe as much as possible - all during this trip.

Today - Friday - was the questioning of our son by other pastors.

That’s how it works. The person who is going to get ordained has to write up his doctrinal statement and then he has to defend it in front of others who have already been ordained. If the ordainee “passes”, he is then ordained in a service which will follow. In our case, it will be on Sunday - tomorrow as you are reading this.

There were 6 pastors/preachers who were involved in the questioning. Then, the church provided a dinner for those participating. Rachael, as the wife of the pastor who was planning it (Ken Woodard), organized the meal afterwards - especially because some of the pastors had to travel a ways to help out with the questioning.

Our youngest sister, Mary, is visiting here, and she stayed with mom so I could go over and help out with the dinner and talk with the other ladies who were helping.

Rachael was kind enough to also take some pictures of the activities of the day.

I think a lot of you who read here realize that we are both involved with Christian ministries- for years Rachael’s husband has been a pastor and my husband and I are in Poland where my husband teaches courses for pastors in training as well as we have a small core of people who meet as a Baptist church plant.

As a result of our interests in our ‘other lives’, we have tried to have a lot of Christian or religious fabrics. I thought it would be a good time to share with you some of our favorite Christian/religious fabrics. They are not always easy to find, but Rachael has worked hard to try to collect as many as possible.

The first one is the cross panel that “we” have produced. It has the Quilted Twins logo on the selvage and is our first fabric.

The next fabrics are some of my favorites that we have! Be sure to check them out! You can get a complete overview of all of our inspiration panels here!

Most of these would make better wall hangings than bed quilts. In fact, probably most people in the ministry would enjoy something like these made up as a wall hanging - especially if they have an office or something like a Sunday School room with wall space!

If you click on the photo, you will get the link needed to purchase the panel shown.

We also have some fabrics in the “religion” category. You can check them out here! We are always looking out for more for this category - so if you are looking for these, keep checking back every couple of weeks. However, be sure to check all the possibilities of words when you look for this type of fabric.

These are the ones you find if you search for “faith”.

These are the ones you can find if you search for the word “Bible”.

These are the ones you find with the search word “church”.

On Sunday we will have another emotion filled day - the actual ordination. Until then, I trust you have a great day!
