Another Update on Mom

It has been almost 10 days since the last update on mom. I know that a lot of you are interested in her situation.

She is still lying in a bed, not yet walking, though we have been able to get her up into a chair- so we are making a tad bit of progress. The improvements are incremental and little by little.

Mom can lift her legs a bit and move her feet up and down, though she complains of them being very heavy.

But too many details and I know you aren’t that interested - just that we’re doing our best to work with her to get her back to walking form.

She is otherwise, quite healthy. Her oxygen level is quite good and her lungs are sounding better all the time - so we are quite grateful for that.

We did get her on a little under the desk exerciser/pedal thingamajig and she is starting to work with that a couple of times a day.

We are hoping soon to see her get the strength she needs in her arms to be able to hold onto a walker. We’d love to be see her be able to gather the strength to hold herself up with her arms and stand. Right now all of her moving is being done by the rest of us - two people are moving her.

Otherwise, this has been quite a gathering for us kids - as four of us are down here as I write this. Only one sibling isn’t in the area - and he’s in Greenville - right where we were last weekend.

My sis has her son down for the weekend and he came over to sing to his Granny.

This quilt is one I made for mom from dad’s shirts. The off white was a sheet found in his office.

I guess in a way you could say that in a lot of ways we have used this as a reunion of sorts.

So there you - a short update on how mom is doing. When people ask, I say, “She’s making incremental improvements.”

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Stay safe!
