2021 Charity quilts #111-120

Here are the next ten quilts we finished this year for charity! All ten of these were the double size.

Here they are close up.

With this group of 10, we are at 215.

I know you’ve already seen us give these away - but it’s time for you to appreciate the work that is in these. It helps if you can see them as big quilts and individually.

I gave the bottom quilt here to a man who was in desperate need for some heat. I gave him two - the top one was from the Big Fabric Haul.

I am going to say that I had an issue with this last one - the cars and yellow and black one.

The red ran when I washed it - and I believe I used color catchers - just not enough.

Our front loader washing machine doesn’t actually have a lot of water in it when it washes so the color just tends to not float in the water like it would in a big washing machine where there is a lot of water. Instead where the fabric touches, the color ran in this case.

I ended up washing it twice and then said, “Forget it”. the backing was something - stars, I think. I decided to just let it be for someone who simply needs warmth.

As a result, I left it for the man who was in serious need of something earlier in October - I gave him two quilts - a nicer brown one and then this one. All together, he could wrap up in the one where the colors ran and then put the other one on top of him for extra warmth..

This last group of quilts - actually I had 35 in the minivan at once when I took them to the church building. At that point, I was ready to get them out of the house so I could begin the clean up!

Once we had these all taken into the building and stacked - it began to look kind of full! You can see I had to start making another pile right in the middle of the floor in front of the other quilts. (I had something under them so they weren’t directly on the floor.)

Here is how the piles grew from the beginning. I do have one more post featuring these charity quilts simply because I did more than 120 in 2021.

Here’s an overview - a summary. Fran made 9 of the 10 quilt tops here. I did the only one that was a different style. :)

Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Thanks for coming along with me on my quilting/sewing journey!
