2021 Charity quilts #61-70
Here are the next ten quilts! So fun now! With this group, I am introducing larger quilts.
I guess you can say that I’m starting to see the “light at the end of the tunnel” now! (Because while I’m showing these to you today - the NEXT ten are finished, waiting for pics and the NEXT ten are being washed/dried and the NEXT ten’s bindings are being planned!)
With this group of 10, I am now caught up to “July” at the rate of 10 per month. I’m closing in on October now! LOL I’m on the downhill side - having reached the official “half-done” with the last post.
Oh, and if I would have noticed the mistakes in the rail fence before I sandwiched it, I would have fixed them. As I was looking at it hanging on the line, I noticed it and said, “Hmm…something looks wrong here.”
I took them to the church in the back of the van.
The current status at the church building - now it looks like this.
There are 165 quilts here. How’s that? These piles are starting to get very tall. I suspect one of these times I’m going to walk into the building and something is going to be on the floor. I’ll try to make sure that doesn’t happen, but it won’t surprise me.
If I don’t give any more away between now and when I get the last ones up here in this room, I will have more than 215 quilts in here - as 50 more will be the goal for this year, but I actually think I have a two or three more than that done.
It’s all very exciting me, actually. This kind of represents the culmination of this year’s charity quilt work AND a good bit of last year’s.
Oh, and once I get finished with all of these, I will spend time planning and getting ready to work on 2022 ones - but I will feel no pressure to actually do any more this year. I may prepare more backings though - queen size ones. I really helps to have them done ahead of time.
There is so much beauty in this room - so much work - so much love and compassion represented here - I am a bit overwhelmed when I think about it.
I’m not particularly an emotional or have an over-the-top sappy personality, but I appreciate so much all of you who have helped me with this project - in any way - from blocks, to donating tops, to cheering me on, to money, to help in any way at all! I appreciate it.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this! Thanks for coming along with me on my quilting/sewing journey!
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
Here’s one of the beauties we have! This fabric features vintage sewing patterns by Quilting Treasures. It’s only $5.99/yard! We actually have a lot of very cool ‘sewing’ themed fabrics.
