More Charity Quilt Tops Finished. Thank You all!
These are some more charity quilt tops that YOU ALL sent along with all the quilts for Ukraine. I have added borders to them to make them the size I need for the quilts I make here in Poland (approximately 60”x80”). I took these photos before it turned cooler this week, so they haven’t been pressed by the time of this writing or the photo taking.
These are wonderful. I love having your tops to work with as they are always so nice - and different - using different fabrics than I have as well as different designs/patterns.
Thank you again - everyone - if you sent these. I find myself working on these when either I’m kind of between things - or often in the summer when it’s quite hot and I just don’t feel up to a big project. It seems to be a very good time to work on this kind of thing. I’ve found that I need 60 more tops to get me through the end of this calendar year - of charity quilts. I’ve actually got totes of them at the church upstairs, but since we’ve got people staying in the church building - upstairs, I’ve felt a little uncomfortable going up there and rummaging in my storage area. I need to get over that. But anyway, these are ones I can finish up and use as I finishing them up by the end of the year 2022.
They have been a great way to ease me back into the groove of sewing in spite of the heat we’ve been experiencing
One thing - no matter what the front looks like, I always put something interesting on the back - that way the quilt is reversible - one side patchwork, the other, something different.
I’ve noticed when I put the quilts out for choosing, some prefer the front and some prefer the backs. Of course, naturally I WANT them to prefer the front. But my hands are off when I do my charity quilt give-away. I only want them to like the quilts they choose. I don’t ask, “Which side?”
LOL
I’ve been working pretty hard on these - trying to finish these up by the end of this week. I have quite a few more in the works at the moment. I’m trying to work on them at least an hour at a time - pretty intensively. Probably the hardest thing about all of these is choosing the fabrics for the borders.
Thank you again for reading along with me!
