I Received my First Fireman's Badges!

A few weeks ago I asked if anyone here would be so kind as to be able to get me a fireman’s badge from a local fire station in the USA.

I got the first one a couple of days ago!

Thank you so much, Danita!

I can’t wait to get it to Edek!

Then…

This morning (the day you are reading this) my husband had to take our last company to our church building where he was catching a van ride to Ukraine and he checked the mailbox coming in.

There was another envelope with two badges in it!

Yeah! Thank you so much, Amy!

I know that I promised some Polish folk fabric in exchange. I know it is a REAL pain for you to do this for me, so I wanted to reward your effort. I do appreciate it!

I normally hate going to the post office, but it appears that this is going to be my life for a while now anyway - as I got another notification of something I have to go get.

Just as a reminder, I asked you a few weeks ago now, if any of you had a fireman’s badge, that this volunteer in Otwock, helping the refugees, asked me if it was possible to get one from the USA. He’s been a volunteer fireman for 40 years, he said, and it was his dream to have one from the US. I thought it would be nice if we could get him one or even more. (I mean, for a ‘dream’ - it is a pretty easy one to fulfill.)

If you want to send me one - I’d love it - I know where he is and will probably go over there later today or more likely tomorrow (Thurs.) to give these to him and take some food to the white tent for the refugees where he is a regular volunteer. You can mail it in a regular envelope/card to my address and it should come like these came -

And thank you so much!

If someone asks you for a customs declaration, please just say it is a gift and value of $0. Hopefully if you just slip it in an envelope with a card or piece of paper as these are, it will come just fine.

Tomorrow I hope to update you more fully on the boxes of quilts and what’s happening with them from this side of the pond.
