Long-Arm Room Reno - Day 8 - Final Touches

The trim is in and the cleanup is done. The men only worked til about 11 am - and then went on over to the church building where they are going to paint tomorrow. (So, Mike and I split the difference - it was more than 2 days needed but less than 3 - as mentioned in a previous blog post.)

In the morning the men worked on the tile outside the room - that little square - and had to be finished up with the tile - the grout is not done. I hope my husband will do it some time in the future. But it’s better than it was and means I won’t track cement dust into the room - as that is what was on the floor right there before.

Artur had to first cut the rest of the tile for the pieces that go into the walkway into the room. I didn’t get any photos of that - he finished too quickly! :)

Then they needed to put in the trim around the bottom of the tile in the room!

So that is done.

After the men went to the church to get started on preparing the walls in the kitchen to get it painted, they finished early. They should finish that up tomorrow.

Later in the day, Mike came into the room and worked on the lights. He didn’t finish up - as we need to go back and get another switch and another wall fixture.

Mike called me in to flip the switch so I could see it all of a sudden!

The lights in the ceiling - the big round ones - are wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is so much light! I had told Mike that I didn’t think I could have too much light - and I love it!

Here is the room so far!

Not all the lights are in yet. Mike needs to get another tool to help him finish the little ones.

So here’s to getting this finished! Just a few more little things and we can call this room all done. None of those little things will make it look very different however. We will wait to put the fixture in the middle of the room until after we have the machine.

So…now I’m getting excited about everything. I’m checking on my residency permit now, daily, to see if any information has come in! So far - no word!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on my quilting journey!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!

Here’s one of the beauties we have!
