Weekly Ukraine Efforts - middle of December!

This week was actually focused just on the last trip that my husband has planned to take to Ukraine before the end of the year!

Monday

We packed up the trailer - in the snow. Mike originally wanted to go on Tuesday but when he looked at the weather, he changed his mind. But no matter what, because we needed to invite other people to help, we needed to make a decision. So, pack up on Monday at 12:30 pm it was. We made the decision and we got there to pack.

It was snowing.

But here we are. We had some young men who helped us! It was a huge encouragement! I put all of these in one gallery.

The photos show the snow from that day, shoveling snow off the top of the trailer, loading the food, and getting everything out of the garage.

I put these pictures so you can click on the arrow to make the next picture show up in your own timing. We had 5-6” of snow by the time it was all done.

This packing up the trailer also marked a milestone in the Ukraine quilt project. Check out this video.

The rest of the week I didn’t do a lot for Ukraine specifically. I’ve been able to do a bit of sewing, planning for Christmas and various other things. We are going to host a Christmas party for the ladies and young people/children at our local refugee center - here in Otwock.

(I’ve taken stuff there.) In order to do that, I’ve purchased a few things for that upcoming activity.

As you read this post, Mike is on his way to Ukraine - and will be gone most of the week. I’d appreciate your prayers for his safety as he hopes to go to a part of Ukraine that been actually attacked over and over. and is farther than he’s gone before. I hope he remembers to take photos!

And please - don’t ask me how I feel about it. :)

Of course it is a difficult thing but I know that he is in the Lord’s hands. As such, he is immortal until his work on this earth is done. Of that we are both confident. Naturally he needs to take care and be alert, etc.

Anyway, some of you have asked if you can donate to this project. As this year is coming to a close, I am coming to the end of the money we have been given. As such, yes, you can donate. I had not wanted more donations earlier this year because I was simply overwhelmed. I knew I risked losing donations by saying “not now” , but I needed to in order to save my own sanity.

But I’m not going to ask Rachael to take donations now. She has her hands full.

I’m going to send you to our mission board and this is a tax deductible donation. In the description box put “Petersens - Ukraine”. Our mission board is set up for such things.

This will take you to the International Baptist Missions page (that is what IBM stands for) and there you can process the donation. You can find us as Mike and Becky Petersen and then click on the link under our name.

Click on that and follow the directions.

Thank you once again!

And thank you for reading and for following along with me this year!

Have a great day wherever you are reading!
