2022 Charity Quilts #61-70

Every time I show one of these charity quilt blog posts - I think how much work goes into just this one post.

Lots.

This leaves me only 50 left for this year. I am now trying to average one a day on the longarm - to not only get used to using it, but to get these done. Since I decided to not even try to have a give-away this fall, it took a lot of pressure off of me. And that helped a lot. I also am trying to work ahead a bit so I could be actually done before Christmas. The long arm means I don’t have to spray glue anymore..so that is wonderful.

Here they are. Most of these tops were made by Ewa and her mom. She had given me some recently and instead of taking them to the church building and pulling out older tops to work on, I just decided to take what is here - and I don’t mind - I want to get caught up with ALL the charity tops - that’s a huge goal, but that’s my goal for the next year - as I’ve gotten so dreadfully far behind.

A man came over this week who attends our church when he is in the area, Severin. He and his wife run a bed and breakfast down south near the Ukraine border. They are going to be coming back to Otwock for the month of December and he said he’d help me get some of them done. He used to run a sewing machine doing some leather sewing business and loves it. I told him I’d teach him how to do it and the pressure on these charity quilts is very small.

I appreciate everyone who has helped get these tops to me so I can quilt and bind them. (Today’s group of tops is mostly Ewa and her mom, but not only!)

Here are the next 10 finished charity quilts.

Anyway…the next 10. I have 50 more to finish to reach my goal for this year.

Many of the centers were made by Ewa’s mom - and one was sent in by some of you. I made 2 of those colorful crazy ones from squares made from donated tops that weren’t square or flat which I cut into 10.5” squares and then made new tops in a 6x8 layout. the smallish centers - I added borders to the outside, so I do have quite a bit of time invested in these quilts.

All of these were finished on my new to me long - arm quilting machine.

Here is a photo collage of all 10 of these quilts.

Thank you so much for reading today - and thank you to everyone who has helped with all of these charity quilts. So many of you have helped - either currently or in the past. Eventually I hope to get all caught up with all of these tops! I will feel so great when that happens!
