More Tops! WOW!

A few days ago my friend Ewa’s husband, Robert and their son brought over three bags of tops. THREE bags!

I put them down on the floor in my living room and left them there to mature while I worked on other things. :) I got them out today and took a look at the treasures we got to be able to finish!

Ewa’s mom is keeping me very busy. Also Ewa. She does the cutting for her mom and then I’m not sure who is actually deciding on the design, but they are adding other fabrics than ones I’ve given them.

So let me show you.

First - the three bags of tops! BIG bags.

Then, I put them all out on the table so I could count them.

I received 24 large quilt tops and 22 small ones. the smaller ones will be the middles of a top where I will need to add more borders.

But here is the overview.

And close ups of the table.

So there you go - more work. Today, however, my husband and I went shopping for a quick trip to Ukraine tomorrow. He’s actually going to go get a friend of his who is leaving. He will meet someone at the border - with a load of stuff in our van and pick up his friend, Bruce.

They asked for soups and cleaning supplies. And it snowed the whole time we were shopping! Not much is collecting though, because it is really just above freezing.

Then after dinner I did a few things and began cleaning up the room he is going to stay in which is my fabric room. it had gotten to be quite a challenge as I had gotten out all of my big quilt tops and was using that room as an organizational room to sort and decide which one to do next.

So I spent several hours on that. I also took the time to do a bit more deeper organizing in that room and look for some things I thought were in there. I should be able to finish up by vacuuming in there. I already made up the bed - a Murphy bed so most of the work is done.

I am so grateful to Ewa and her mom for all their help! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this, but Ewa AND her mom are grateful for the sewing as her mom is sick with cancer and having this sewing is giving her something to do with herself. And we so appreciate it, don’t we? I know I do!

Because I do have a collection of quilt tops down in the long arm room already I will probably take these up to my storage room at the church just to give me some breathing room (where I keep finished quilts til I give them away - now I have about 45 in there! Then I can bring them back when I’m ready to tackle them. I’m trying to not let myself get swallowed up in a mess again - been trying hard to avoid that, in fact.

and that’s it for today. I’m hoping along with vacuuming out that room for Bruce, I’m hoping to get another of my own quilts quilted tomorrow while my husband drives to Ukraine. If you are the praying type, I’d appreciate your prayers for his safety as he drives.

Thanks so much for coming along on this journey! Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
