More Ukraine Efforts

Well, my husband told me he is heading out to Ukraine pretty soon again.

This time he will just go quickly to the border and back again - picking up a friend of his, Bruce, who is heading to the states. Bruce is currently waiting on his residency permit in Ukraine and they haven’t finished it as quickly as they normally do. So..he’s kind of stymied. Anyway, Mike wants to take a full vehicle, naturally. (Hopefully his waiting will be considerably shorter than mine was in Poland last year!)

So, I had the job of getting the stuff to go in.

This is rather a small load because the main purpose of this isn’t to actually take aid - the aid is a side item. The purpose of the trip would be to meet another man who has Bruce in his vehicle. At their appointed time and place, they meet, change over all the goods, and the Bruce will get in Mike’s van and come back here. (Planes aren’t flying in/out of Ukraine.)

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of what we’ve collected.

Oh, and the list - here it is. We use Viber to communicate with people from Ukraine and so we got this list from the person Mike is going to meet.

Yes, they are toys.

So, just for fun, Mike bought 2 F16s for Igor. He’s the driver who will bring our friend to the border (he has to drive about 5 hours, and Mike the same).

My sis said when she saw the list, “I’m glad he still has a sense of humor!”

Anyway, we are waiting on the note from Bruce that his paperwork in Ukraine is done and he can fly to the states. I decided that all that waiting was leaving me in limbo and I was tired of that - that’s why I spent several hours shopping the other day. I already had ordered things and many things were shipped to us (insect repellent - OFF), adult wipes, adult diapers, bandages like Bandaids, plus we bought work gloves. I also added some ladies’ deo and dish soap and some other cleaning supplies to the list.

Here are the photos.

So it’s not a very exciting post but it is part of what is going on in my life. There are moments of deja vu - especially this week when my husband pulled something in his back again and has a lot of pain. Thankfully he is just starting to the exercises that he learned last year when he was out of commission for about month or so!

So…this is just a tiny bit of what’s been going on - but it is something. We’ll have company for a day or two until Bruce flies out - once he gets here!

Thanks so much for coming along with us. We appreciate you all and all the help for Ukraine you have provided!

Have a great day wherever you are reading!
