Another Batch of Hearts!

Oh my yes, more hearts!

So much fun.

I can’t begin to explain how fun it is to make something so little that I am going to give away. It is giving me a chance to explore a lot of different things - and that is rewarding. I like it because without really needing to delve deeply into a different craft like beading, I can play around with it as I add beads and/or decorations to these hearts.

I should say that when my littles were first born - I think I had two children and was expecting nr. 3, I tried a “work at home scheme” - it was making beaded jewelry. It was a “real thing”- not a scam, but after the first delivery of supplies, I saw how long it would take to make one item of anything and I resigned. It was too slow!

Some of them were a little plainer than others, but sometimes I had to consider how fancy the fabric was that I was using.

I didn’t feel like going downstairs and pulling out some white buttons on this first one. Maybe I should have but the yellow smiley button makes me smile.

I brought these sea animal pony beads from the states with me a year or so ago. I think I got them at Michael’s. This is the first of them I’ve used. They are super cute.

I did get my machines back from being repaired so I’ve been able to put my buttons on by machine again. I doubt I’ll go back to putting them on by hand! :)

My local findings shop had the wooden beads. So pretty. I think I’ll take one of these over to show them what I’m doing as one of the ladies there asked. :)

I bought this trim on line and wanted to try it out. It kind of overwhelms this tiny heart, but the quality is nice.

I did also put a nice eyelet/grommet in this one.

I put some sparkles on this one.

Bows and ribbons on this one. At this point, I just felt like using those pony beads and putting them on the ends of ribbons.

I actually used some scraps for this one - made a crazy block out of it. Can’t say it’s my favorite, but it is okay.

I keep hoping that someone will find one of my hearts and post it to the site or to the Facebook group. So far, nothing. :)

More sparkles on these.

I bought some ss20 rhinestones and glued them on. Sorry about the loose threads. By the time I noticed it these are all in a bag in my purse or already hung up somewhere.

Starting to play with other beads.

Now I had to resort to hand sewing this button on. :) It’s the focus of this heart.

I also glued rhinestones on this one.

Sometimes simplicity is called for. Gluing rhinestones at the intersection of the seams was enough for this one. A big ole plastic button seemed a bit gawdy, but it’s what I had. :)

You know - these closeups really show the threads and other small things on these things - I don’t even notice them until I look at these photos as I write this! I liked this color combination! Lots of fun with this one.

A nod to classic black, white and red.

I do enjoy making these more rustic ones. But then I like doing the the other brighter colors as well!

I think I’d like to take some of these to church and have the little girls help me glue the rhinestones on - but then I know they’d just want to take them home…:) Then I’d to explain what I’m doing…still thinking about that.

I just used some more permanent glue on the back of the flower. It comes with a sticky pad - probably meant for card making.

The last two once again are more rustic - looking.

And the last one for this time.

So now I wanted to show where I put them. The weather has decided now to change into a bit rainy so I’ve been a little stuck on where to put them. However, this is what I did. I’m hoping even if they get stuck in the rain, they will dry just fine and someone will want them.

I checked the website of ifaqh.com about a week or more ago now and I saw that someone found a heart in Dade City, FL!!!!

I was so excited!

They keep reporting them all over the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and Australia, New Zealand…but so far I’ve not seen any of mine reported. I’ll keep going. I’m hoping that people are enjoying them!

In general, they seem to be finding more and more as reported on the website ;) Pretty soon they are going to actually have to hire people to put them on the site! It hardly seems possible that volunteers could keep up with it!

Here is the one that someone reported from Dade City. I wonder if the maker was a customer of Quilted Twins??? Hmmm.

Anyway, it is super cool. Fun. This is really a sweet idea.

Have a great day wherever you are reading. Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
