Next Ten Tops from Those Strips!

I was determined to use up those strips while my husband was on his trip to Central Asia. (I got a little sidetracked by some things I was making for next year’s All Florida Shop Hop, but I pushed and was able to finish all of them!)

If I do have more bags of these, I will have to uncover them after we have the give-away (Sat.)

At least I made up the strips I could find for now.

Here they are. Click on the arrows to move to the next one. I used a variety of solids for the strips.

Stacked back up here so that they look like little quilts. However, these are just tops!

Here they are all spread out in a row.

Once again - remember, I made these from the little rolls of strips that Ewa and her mom made. I had bags and bags of them and between what she had just brought me and what I had stashed at the church building - I just decided to tackle them instead of saving them.

I first pressed them all. After cutting solid colored strips that were 86” long I sewed these things on to them. I worked from there. I did a lot of pinning. When all finished, I pressed the whole thing.

These are now all the right size and I can just pick one up and match it to a backing I like and it’s ready to go onto the long arm!

So, if you’ve kept track, by now I’ve finished up 40 of these tops. Well, that is how many I’ve shown you now. FORTY!

FORTY!

That is 1/3 of the the tops I generally finish in a whole year.

It’s a relief - having them done. I will show the rest soon.

I did end up buying a new iron. My steam generator quit generating steam, so I resorted to an iron I had in my house - but it was a cheap one and started leaking and just bubbling up a storm. It was also very lightweight. Two times lately I had it blow the power in the whole house when I overfilled it. I decided it was time to get a nice name brand iron. I did and ironed this last group with it and boy, it was nice!

I would like to get a new steam generator, but decided that for now, I am not. I’m back to using an iron. Maybe after I’ve used it a while I will let you know what I really like about it.

Have a great day wherever you are reading!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
