Hearts - Again and Again!

I picked through my tub of hearts for good ones that fit fall/October/November!

So, here they are.

What has been an eye opener to me is how much I have enjoyed making the fall themed ones.

Shocking!

Seriously.

If you would have told me 15 years ago I would actually enjoy making fall themed anything, I would have just laughed at you.

I used to hate fall as it was just such a downer for me. The diminishing light, the cooler weather and the gray days here in Poland - it was hard to stomach.

However, over time I have gotten used to the diminishing light and enjoy the cooler days. We’ve gotten a LOT more overhead lights in our house now and the darkness doesn’t negatively affect me anymore. In fact, while I’m kind of sad the fall days are nearing their end (in another month or so), I am still enjoying making these with fall themes. (It’s amazing how we can adapt isn’t it?)

I may move on to winter or Christmas themed ones as well. We’ll see. Our winters here lately have turned so insipid that it is hard to think that we will get lots of snow. But I could be surprised!

Ever since we got here, our winters have been freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw, freeze, thaw. Mike noticed right away when we first were here and he said it was like having “spring breakup” all winter long. It gets messy. He wasn’t used to that because at least when he grew up in Alaska, once it was cold, it stayed that way til spring.

So…while now the leaves are starting to turn color and finally I can cook without being afraid of heating up the house, it might not be long til we have to heat regularly!

Anyway….I digress. Back to the hearts.

This is where I put them! I put them all locally in Jozefow or Otwock. So far no one has reported one of mine as found on the www.ifaqh.com website yet, but hopefully…some day.

But even if it never happens, well, I’m having fun doing it and imagining people finding them.

I am also finding a few newer places to put them - places that should be good through the winter. In Poland many people walk or bike all year long (unless there is snow in which case bicycling is very difficult to do!) I am paying more attention to the pattern of where people walk and travel - and take shortcuts, etc.

Here they are.

I’m getting close to asking some people to helping me put them out - at least one lady in our church really wants to help. I’ve got to explain to her better about where they don’t want us to put them. That’s my biggest concern - I don’t want to leave them where they don’t want them put.

One interesting thing.

I had started making hearts back in early 2020. By the middle of March I was getting ready to start putting them out. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing. I didn’t put any out before we were told to not touch anything without sanitizing. Mostly I stayed home and sewed! :) Needless to say, I didn’t want my hearts to be thrown away for fear of having a strange virus on them. I put them away.

But, I found those earlier this year or last year…can’t remember now, but then misplaced them again. But the other day I found them - they were in our guest room - over on the side of the room by a pile of fabric. So, I took them and have put them in my sewing room where I can bling them up a bit. Compared to what I’m doing now, they were pretty blah. :) I’ve kind of jazzed them up now and thrown them in my box of hearts to be distributed.

So thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
