Next Twenty Hearts!

This next group of hearts has been distributed.

After doing this group (and all the ones in the big tub I have that haven’t been distributed), I’ve decided to not automatically do beads anymore.

I will do beads if they don’t cover up a major thing in the fabric. But I’ve found with these, that often I’m covering up some of the design of the fabric that I find interesting.

And that’s the beauty of making these hearts - I can make them however I want! They are just simply to try to spread some cheer - and to use up my scraps or scrap batting - or both - and to expand my own creativity in a completely doesn’t matter how I make it way.

Oh - and someone asked where my beads came from. The pony beads came from Walmart, if you can believe it.

I brought them back to make fidget mats, but I haven’t done that yet. They came in a nice box of beads of many colors. Most of them, anyway. I think I got those cute pony beads in the shape of dolphins and sea turtles from a Michael’s (I think) - a couple of years ago.

The rest of the beads - the wooden ones, mostly came from our local findings shop - the same place I get my batting from. A few came from local stores called Action and Tedi. I’m not sure if that helps or not.

Of course I’ve not been making any hearts lately - but that’s on my ‘remind myself about this’ thing for when I do make some more.

I saw some really pretty ones that used only denim and lace. I want to try that!

I have been throwing some of my cutting off scraps into a box to make into some crumb blocks for hearts. Now that’s a joke. I may end up passing them on to Ewa if she wants them - at least some of them - but for now I am saving them as I’m cutting up some amazing scrubs fabrics into 4.5” and 3.5” squares. I’ll show you what I’m up to another day.

I don’t know how many I have in my big bucket, but I’m sure it’s still at least 150 or so.

Here is where I put them. They are all here in Jozefow or Otwock here in Poland. They varied from a playground to the back of a chair inside a mall at the food court to the food sharing fridge when I also put some squash and pumpkins in there - wanted to put some food hearts with them.

And there you go. I did expand into some new areas of putting them out. I’m starting to actually enjoy the putting out part. At first it was very scary, but now I’m gaining some ‘courage’ and enjoying imagining people finding them and wondering what they are.

If you are new here and wondering what these are. These are simply hearts made out of fabric and various trims - no special pattern - and tagged with a tag from the I Found a Quilted Heart website. We are supposed to put them in random places for people to find. There is a list of suggested places and then spots where you are NOT supposed to put them.

So…here they are. I’m trying to be law abiding and not create trash by making as pretty as I can hearts (so that people will want to take them home). However, so far none have been reported on the website of www.ifaqh.com . Maybe someday. So far Poland only has a few reported! I was hoping to help change that since so many more have been reported in other parts of Europe. I guess people just have no idea what they are seeing when they see the tag.

Anyway, I’m still enjoying using these scraps and small pieces by making these fun little projects!

Thanks again for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
