"Quilt Story Time" - Day 3

This quilt which I made in 2012 - was held up by our two youngest children.

I had, at that time, cut a bunch of 2.5” squares. This was the last quilt in that series and I surprised myself and I was able to use up all those squares!

Even back then I liked making series of quilts!

As I looked at this quilt, I have to smile. I really just wanted to use up everything I had left.

At this point in my journey I did not have the Electric Quilt program. I was literally doing stuff like this “on the fly”. The burgundy was a sheet from the second-hand shop.

I’m sure I just put this in with the charity quilts. I certainly don’t have it anywhere in my house currently. I was just really trying to get comfortable with free motion quilting.

It took some doing but I managed to go back into my pics and find that basket and then bag of 2.5” squares I cut up.

I kept cutting, however, and the bag on the right is what I worked out of.

I then proceeded to make a bunch of quilts from them - several were 9 patches. The one shown was using the last of these squares.

And there’s my quilt story.

Oh - as far as my computer goes. I’ve found that something is wrong with Chrome on my computer which is stopping internet from coming in. ??

Firefox, however, seems to get internet just fine. I’ve spent hours and hours on trying to get it fixed already, by myself or with the help of my IT son, Daniel. However…once I learned that Firefox, a web browser was working and it isn’t actually a computer problem or an internet problem, I was much relieved. Daniel said it is feasible that the problem will fix itself with a future update of Chrome. In the meantime, I’ll use Firefox.

However, I decided to let myself go ahead and do this little series for this week. It is kind of fun to talk about these OLD quilts of mine. :)
