"Light 'n Bright" - an All Florida Shop Hop quilt kit

This quilt was my sister’s pick right away as we thought about designs last year when I worked on some ideas for consideration for the magazine.

In the end, we didn’t submit it as we decided to save it for offering directly from us to our customers.

When it was time to finalize the design for the tester, however, I had some issues with it.

It was funny. Sometimes patterns just seem to fly together in a very little bit of time once I have the idea, however, this one took a while and there was a period of time that I despaired of ever getting it right.

But, my sis and I worked it through and we finally figured it out! :)

So here we have our next quilt for the 2024 All Florida Shop Hop featuring the All Florida Shop Hop fabric manufactured for Quilting Treasures.

The outer border fabric is the shells print. The other blenders are part of the official line of Quilting Treasures All Florida Shop Hop fabrics - which are just Quilting Treasures’ blenders called Color Dance.

This quilt was designed by me, but the top was made by Mike Flynn, our Quilting Treasures rep, and quilted by Jeff and Diane Hissong, longarmers out of Lakeland, with a 1/4 page ad in the magazine.

My son, Timothy happened to be in Florida and Rachael managed to snag him for taking photos. We appreciate it!

The quilt finishes at 62”x74”.

This panel features scenes with various animals found in Florida.

We wanted to keep this one nice and light because that’s how we think of Florida - nice and light and bright! The cream blender keeps it all so pretty! The navy gives the contrast that we wanted for interest.

This quilt kit includes the fabric needed for the top including binding and the pattern. Recommended backing choices are on the page where the kit is found.

This quilt kit is available here for $97. It uses more fabric than the last couple due to all of the half square triangles that we used.

If all you want is the pattern, you can get it here.

Note - This quilt is far easier than it looks.

One of the things my sis has wanted for all of these Shop Hop fabrics’ quilts is reasonably “quick and easy”. We know that people want to make something from all their fabrics that they pick up while traveling all over the state of Florida, but we also know that after all that traveling, many of them want things that don’t take them too long. In other words, they want something that can be worked up quickly - not taking them all summer and into the next winter to finish! At least that is what we think they want.

So there you are - our third All Florida Shop Hop quilt kit for 2024.

Thanks so much for coming along with us on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
