"Patriotic Summer"
This top was made by simply taking a look at what fabrics were in the bundle and then deciding what to do with them. I checked out first what the original designer had in mine and then took a look once again at what I had to work with.
The artwork in this bundle pack made me think of some Americana puzzles that I have had - by Charles Wysocki, I think it is, and I liked doing them. As a result, I decided to bring this bundle back with me and make it up.
So, I did.
Here are some photos. I quilted it with stars and loops.
I added navy and cream or off white and green to the bundle pack to make things all work together well for me and this idea.
I love all the fabrics that are part of this bundle.
I ended up using pretty much big blocks or just strips of those half yards. I didn’t want to make blocks and ruin the look of the fabrics themselves. I was afraid that if I cut them into small pieces I would lose the fun prints/words or designs.
The only reason you see small blocks across the top and bottom of this quilt is that I was trying to use up pretty much all of the fabric bundle. I was aiming for very little waste.
The quilt roll:
I wrote up the pattern of sorts of what I did, but the pattern is just a diagram with the dimensions that are on the drawing. That way if you do want to make something similar to what I did, you can, though with just a few of these bundle packs available, I’m not sure that a full scaled pattern is actually needed. So, the layout will be available. It’s here.
Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
