Putting A Period at the end of 2024 Pasco County Fair

Tonight we were invited to an appreciation dinner for all the volunteers for the Pasco County Fair. I felt like an interloper since I wasn’t here when the fair was going on this year even though I did help a lot in 2023.

We had a delicious meal provided by a local restaurant called Florida Cracker. It was delicious. We smiled at the fake gold flatware. It was nice, though, and quite pretty.

Along with all the business of the fair, we had a lot of appreciation recognition of various people. Also there were the door prizes. The door prizes were definitely the most fun for most of us as they varied from Amazon gift cards to a big basket of ground beef and barb eque sauces.

Each table had a centerpiece of a Gerber Daisy and one person at the table was the winner of the daisy - there was a dot under the tablecloth and if you were sitting at that spot, the flower was yours!

This year Ken (Rachael’s husband) had the privilege of presenting Cheyenne and Forest recognition of “Friends of the Fair” as they help out at Collura Cottage and have been doing so for years now. Cheyenne dresses up in period costume while she works a very small loom. Her husband runs a saw with his bicycle and sells his creations.

It lasted a couple of hours and we had an enjoyable time with our tablemates.

Three people at our table won door prizes - Melanie won a gift certificate to Lowe’s, Forest won a set of glass balls. Rachael won a gift certificate for food at the fair in 2025.

I appreciated the chance to be there. Collura Cottage was led and set up by Rachael and Ken and their helpers. Thank you so much for all your volunteer work!

This was the theme for 2024 Pasco County Fair.

And thus ends the 2024 Pasco County Fair - at least as far as Quilted Twins goes. :)
