'“Crazy” For Florals quilt top
When I cam back from the states in April, I was moving some blocks or fabric or something and I came across these 12 blocks that made up this quilt. Oh, yes, I remembered them - but not until I saw them.
I made them so I could take pictures and add them to the Crazy for Florida quilt pattern as I didn’t have enough of the official fabrics, so I substituted florals instead. I wanted to test the instructions that had been given to us and also take some pictures to add to the instructions.
But I really did like the end result.
The finished quilt top is here.
I used a charcoal gray sashing and the bright blenders as cornerstones.
I also used a beautiful floral that I have in my shelves for the outer border.
I think the finished quilt top is mighty fine. I will definitely finish it up. It would brighten anyone’s day! Maybe I’ll give it to one of the ladies in our church here in Poland.
I wanted to let you know this is not at all a difficult pattern. It took 12 (? I think) fat quarters and there was virtually no waste. I did manage to make the blocks pretty much in one afternoon, if I remember it right. I did it back in February, I think so I don’t remember for sure. It’s not difficult though.
You can order this pattern from us ONLY as an regular snail mail pattern which we will have to send through the mail. Included is several pages of the instructions plus a copy of the template which is what you cut on (my advice - copy it off immediately and save for use at a different time). It’s the time involved as to why we are charging for this pattern as it is really a simple one and from what I understand is one of those “passed down from someone else” type pattern. So, we aren’t charging for actually any intellectual property, per say, but rather, the printed pages and the drawn template.
If you want that template and detailed instructions and photos, you can get that here.
The pattern will say “Crazy For Florida” on it but the pictures that I use in the pattern will show these florals. The order of what you do is what is written - and the fabrics themselves really aren’t that important.
The quilt is a quick and easy one. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
