May 2024 Cutting Report

In May I did a lot of cutting on a variety of things - including different tops.

You saw the Bowtie quilt and I’ve got a couple more things in the works and a finished top that I hope to show you soon.

I also worked in May on the Mercantile quilt - and cut up even more of the fabrics that work with those types of designs.

I also picked out several patterns of things I want to make. I actually paid for another pattern! (an airplane one - want to make two - one for my husband one for his brother—both are pilots.)

But that’s not what this is about, is it? It’s about what I did cut.

Oh, and I did cut up some of Lori Holt’s fabrics, but I am keeping them separate from my general scraps.

But here is the summary -

2.5” - 4.19 lbs.

2” - 0.88 lb.

1.5” - 0.88 lb.

It wasn’t much, was it? I actually only cut most of it in the last few days. The 2.5” bin was helped by my throwing all of my strips that were leftover from that bargello I made in April into this bin. This is that quilt.

But I figure if I don’t let it all get away from me again - hopefully ever again - I will not have a whole lot to do.

This makes my total year to date:

And my total to date of all the ones I’ve cut from scraps.

The last couple of days I doubled down on what I cut - I mostly got caught up on what I had thrown in to a bin that waits for my cutting down into squares or strips.

I always feel good when I have cut my scraps up and at the end of the month I am caught up or mostly caught up. Ever since I had bags and bags of stuff to be cut (years ago now), I’m trying not to let it happen again. That was so depressing!!! :)

Anyway….This is what I did for this month of May!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
