Florida Garden Fail and Polish Mini Garden!
Well, here it is.
Rachael sent me pics a few weeks ago now.
This is where we planted back in May!
Rachael’s husband, Ken, asked her not to go in among the weeds due to the number of snakes we have there in Florida - including a lot of poisonous ones.
You can’t see anything. I’m sure anything good in this mess is completely drowned out by the weeds. Maybe we could call it a jungle undergrowth!
AND
As a result, this year’s Florida garden is a COLOSSAL disaster! It was supposed to be a no weeding experiment. Well, it was a fail. In Florida, at least in this spot - “no weeding” just wouldn’t work.
BUT
Here in Poland, a young lady, Raya, who grew up on a farm and has a beautiful garden in the church’s back yard, gave me some extra plants - zucchini and cucumbers. It was a bit late when I got the plants and I put them where I didn’t normally have a garden.
The plants were looking a bit sick a few days ago, so I put some fertilizer on them and surrounded them each with compost and some granulated fertilzier. Then, I told my husband what I really need is grass clippings! So, he gave me a lot of them! I put them around the plants and they started looking better within a day! No kidding!
So now my garden this year consists of this.
Our Florida garden is considered a disaster. Hopefully this mini Polish garden will hopefully amount to something. It will be late and small compared to what I normally do. But it is something.

I didn’t get started this year because I simply didn’t feel that great. Raya didn’t either and was also later starting her garden than she had the year before. Then, since her garden did well and too many seeds came up so she asked me if I had wanted some of her plants to help thin out hers. I told her that I only would take about 20 plants - not 50-60 or even more! :)

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
