"John Deere - Dirt Magnet"

I originally made this quilt top with a different purpose in mind but that fell through - mostly because I wasn’t thrilled with how it turned out. I made it in 2018, so it’s been a while.

I told you I was working down the bottom of my piles of tops. This was right there at the bottom.

However, I decided to just finish it and give it to my grandson who likes all things construction.

I didn’t know what I was doing when I attempted the applique - which is one of the reasons I’m not entirely satisfied with it. But it’s fine for a preschooler!

I did use a panel we had in the store. These John Deere panels are a perennial favorite. We currently do not have any more of this very panel in stock, but have a couple of others.

It was a sunny day and not the best conditions for pictures, but I think you get the picture. :)

I added little tractors above and below the panel along with borders.

And that’s all.

I had put off finishing it for so many years I was over it.

I just simply quilted it with loops and am calling it good. It’s one of those that didn’t turn out as I envisioned it when I had it finished as a top. I’m glad my son and his wife had a son in the meantime, so he’s the perfect person to inherit it!

Here are our current John Deere panels that we have in stock - If you click on the picture, it should take you to the panel on the site.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Oh, I think I got the tractor applique outline from something online. I think it was coloring pages - something you could get for free.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
