Ewa Came by and Left me Some TOPS!

Ewa and her mom have been busy, as usual. She came by a couple of weeks ago now and left me these tops to add to my collection of quilt tops to finish up for charity!

There is a total of 28 large ones and 10 smallish ones.

So, that’s a fair few! I do appreciate every single one! Lord willing, each will get finished and help keep someone warm!

You will notice that the tops by Ewa’s mom are pretty much all the same design - patches.

We decided that this design is the best one for her mom. We have very nice looking tops by using a simple 4 patch or whatever you want to call it. When she was doing longer strips, there were some problems with feed dogs and things not being flat; however, these all turn out just fine and this design is a classic.

Sometimes I think Ewa gets stressed when we use so much light in the tops, but honestly, it’s great! I use something that coordinates on the back and people can choose the quilts they prefer.

That is the beauty of having people come in and choose out the quilts for themselves. This way they get to find ones that please their own personal tastes. This is also why I don’t mind anything that is considered UGLY by you or me. I have long since learned that what one person thinks is ugly or just so-so, another person will snatch up as their favorite. Shrug? Yes, it happens.

I don’t know. I don’t care.

I don’t mind what some people consider ugly tops because of that.

But just in case, the backs are always nice and this way people have reversible quilts - a nice patchwork front and a solid piece on the back.

I am aiming towards an early November charity quilt give-away in 2025, and hopefully will have a LOT of quilts to distribute! I’m getting excited about it. Since I didn’t do one in 2024 due to everything going on in my life- this year, with last year’s total quilts and this year’s 120, I should have over 200! :) Just wow! Last year, even though I didn’t have an official give-away I did give out between 20 and 30 to people in our area.

Thank you, Ewa, and her mom. I don’t think Ewa’s mom reads or understand’s English, so maybe Ewa will see this and relay the message. Of course, I’ve already told her.

Here is another pic of our 2019 give away. My son, Tim, got this picture and his wife, Claire, is responsible for how nice the quilts look on the chairs! Since they are back now, I’m hoping for some more amazing photographs! :)

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
