“Classico” - another 2.5" quilt all finished

I finished up this quilt and it is big! This one finished at 90”x108”.

And I really like it - so there’s that.

I have been playing around with these black and purple or black and green or blue 9 patches. I have three different ones that I designed and this is the second of the three. Eventually I hope to get the third one finished. It’s not started yet.

By the way, this is the first one -

I will probably not keep this one simply because I can’t keep them all!

But I do tend to like these three colors together. It’s not the first time I’ve made these colors in a quilt.

Do you rember this series? I made them for the young ladies at the quilt shop. By that I mean the older daughters of the ladies who work there - they are also Rachael and my grandchildren :) IOW, two of my granddaughters and 3 of my grand-nieces.

I did finish this top back last fall, but I just ran out of time to write up the pattern. It’s a simple one with the sashing making the blocks look a bit different.

I pieced the backing - using up some of these colors from my stash. For those of you who feel overwhelmed by your stash, I’d challenge you to make up some backings from it - go ahead and piece some backings. It uses up fabric very quickly.

Here’s a close up of the center of the top. I did use a lot of scraps on this one.

The quilt roll:

I had shown this one before (way back in ‘22) and when taking the photo, realized I had a mistake in the main part of the top. Let me show you the mistake I had made.

I fixed it but didn’t take more pictures to show you. I just fixed it and put it away to quilt.

I did get the pattern written up and put on the site.

It is here.

I hope someone can use it!

So are you wondering what in the world nr. 3 looks like in this little mini series?

You probably can guess if you look at the first two.

Maybe I’ll get in gear and start on it - soon. I love to make 9 patches, so it will be fun to do.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
