I decided to try to make yet another quilt top from the fat quarters that we featured in the 2024 All Florida Shop Hop. I fell in love with the design by Beth Albert and wanted to use them.

I had made another top a while back and while it ended up being okay, it was less than what I had wanted it to be.

So I tried again.

Once again, I’m only OK with this one -

I used Misty Doan’s You Tube tutorial for this one.

These fabrics are just too busy and not appropriate for the best quilt with this design. Once again, I’m not super impressed with my own usage of this fabric. I will probably try yet again with a completely different idea.

However, it certainly is ok.

And it was quick because the smallest pieces were 4” square.

I don’t have a lot of other pictures at this point.

I was able to use only 8 fat quarters and some background fabric. As I said, it was quick. I had more trouble cutting it out because I wanted to keep the directional fabric all going the same direction and this pattern simply wasn’t written for that. That made it harder to think about as I followed the video tutorial (and took notes).

Anyway, this one finishes about 50”x50” so it is a nice smallish lap quilt. But it is quick and if you want to make a top in a couple of days - try this one. Those blocks are 25”, so you know it is fast!

And there you are. I’m so glad I’ve been able to sneak in some sewing just for “me” and what I want to do while I’m here in Florida.

I’m sewing at mom’s house so you can see that this is the only space I have - my floor in Poland is more open for me to take pictures of a larger top.

But it is what I have, so once again, I will strive to do the best with what I’ve got at hand!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
