"Town Square"
This pattern I fell in love with when I first saw it. I mean, who wouldn’t? I wanted to start making some house quilts anyway, and when I saw this design in the middle of the Quilty Fun book, I really wanted to make this one!
So I did.
This one also reminded me of the squares that are often in the center of Poland - except they are always “Old Town” and not surrounded by houses but rather by large buildings which are businesses on the bottom and often apartments above the businesses.
I did make the houses and stars along with the ones I need for the main quilt of Quilty Fun. Now I’ve not finished that one - but will. I think I have 3 or 4 rows left of that row by row sampler type quilt.
Here are some other pictures of the fabrics I used.
The quilt roll -
I did copy the color scheme that the original pattern was in for the stars, if I remember right. Otherwise, the houses - not so much. They were my own ‘thing’. I just used the advice Lori gave in her book and that was to choose the roof fabric first and then coordinate the rest of the house with that.
And there you are.
Oh - I did offer all these house quilts to my children/spouses this year (2024) and one of them asked for this one, so this one is with me in the states at the moment and will find its way to its new home.
Here is my Lori Holt quilt series of tops and quilts finished so far. It’s not a huge one at this point.
Thank you so much for coming along with me!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
