It's National Pink Flamingo Day Today in the USA!
Did you know that?
Apparently this day was started as National Pink Flamingo Day in 2007 by the Major of Leominster, Massachusetts in order to commemorate the flamingo’s creator, Don Featherstone. It is referring to a pink plastic flamingo which apparently are common lawn and garden ornaments. Shown below is a photo of a typical one.
Now, at Quilted Twins we have a lot of Flamingo “things” and fabrics because after all, we are located in Florida where flamingos do live naturally!
I will say that although I was born in Florida and lived there many years, I never remember seeing any in sort of natural state except in places like Cypress Gardens when it was a garden and water ski show. Now that location is a Legoland in Florida.
Anyway, I thought I’d tell you about the things that we have in our store that are flamingo themed - especially fabrics! We do have some beauties!
In fact, we have a whole section of fabrics that we call “FLAMINGO” and then with a number after it - that is how popular these fabrics are for us.
Here are some of the panels we have: You can click on the picture and it will take you to the page where the panel can be purchased.
I’m letting those stay very large so you can see them nice and big.
But we also have some bundle packs - here they are.
We also have one 2.5” strips bundle - here. It’s by Kanvas Studio/Benartex.
We also have a lot of single fabrics - with flamingos as the theme. Here are a few. You can click on the picture and it will take you to the fabric.
So, if you happen to be a flamingo lover, maybe today, in honor of Pink Flamingo Day, you can buy something that will bring your lovely flamingos home to you!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
