“Prairie Crochet” Quilt Top all finished

I did manage to finish the Prairie Crocheted Quilt Top - with the 16 rather large 18.5” blocks. I used the tan I had around as the border as shown in the book Prairie Home.

The top is finished.

I do still have it out, because I want to decide on a backing and put it with the other tops for when I get going on quilting. I tend to quilt in bunches - and when I get going, I don’t want to stop progress and work on backings.

Some close ups of the blocks

Do I like it? Very much so. I know that I probably shouldn’t have used the white background pieces (as darks) in this top, but I had them, and decided to do it anyway to see what would happen.

And now I know. And it’s okay. No doubt it would be better without that fabric there in those blocks, but I’m okay with those blocks being a bit different from the rest. This way I know how it looks and don’t have to wonder how it would have looked!

This quilt top finishes at 93”x93” so it is a nice sized queen sized top. And that is just perfect for me. I like that size.

This is my first top finished out of the book Praire Home. You will be seeing many more from it as I have my eye on them in the future.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
