So many times I seem to be totally behind or lost when it comes to quilt alongs!

It takes time to keep looking on line at what is going on ‘out there’. Last year I first heard about Moda Blockheads - and they did were already on Moda Blockheads 5 last year! That means that somehow I missed all of the first 5!

This year it is Moda Blockheads 6. And it JUST started! Finally I’m not very late! And I certainly didn’t miss it all!

I’m going to work along with it!

I’m only a LITTLE behind. It mean, it just started at the end of May, so I’m only a couple of weeks behind.

Here’s the deal.

It’s a free quilt along.
The blocks will be introduced once a week on Wednesdays.
I bookmarked a place on the internet that will be a shortcut for all the blocks.
You can do as many or as few as you want. The idea is to introduce us to the designers from Moda Fabrics.
You can use whatever fabrics you have.

Of course, I want mine to be pretty. So I’m working on deciding. You know it is hard to know what to do about fabrics when you aren’t sure what it will look like. It is always easiest to just use a line of fabrics such as Camille Roskelley’s or Sherry and Chelsi’s lines. However, I don’t have a lot of those fabrics here in Poland, so what I have is very precious and I don’t want to use them on this project.

The blocks this year will be 9” finished or larger.

Apparently one of the layouts is this shown below. The whole Blockheads 6 is based on this pattern, which apparently is out of stock everywhere. (They are getting more printed, however. But the picture does allow us to see what is going on with this quilt along, which is really nice to know, IMO.)

I’m going to attempt to do these blocks, simply because I’m not normally a fan of sampler quilts. Maybe this will help. I’m going to try to make it wonderful.

This quilt along goes until November, so it goes at a relatively slow pace. This layout to me is one of the best I’ve seen that is not a regular layout. But I’m not sure. Maybe I’ll do this layout - but maybe not.

I know I won’t use solids. As of this blog post writing, I do know that. Maybe I’ll go peruse my fabric collection and see what I can find that go together. It’s not like I don’t have any fabric! :) LOL

There is a Moda You Tube channel that will show us weekly how to make the blocks. Let me share the first two videos from this year’s Blockheads 6 with you. There was also an introductory video as well, but I didn’t link it.

This will get you started if this is something interesting to you.
