"Apple-licious" - Round 2

I made my first Apple-licious quilt and ended up giving it to my daughter-in-law, Jessica.

This is another one of my Lori Holt quilt finishes.

I made the top last year - well, I finished it last year after starting it a while ago. I decided to go ahead and make this one larger. I remember when I finished the first one, I liked it - loved it, in fact, but didn’t like that it was so small. I have very little wall space and wasn’t going to use a quilt like this for a wallhanging.

I finished it by quilting it quite recently. I decided to go ahead and quilt it the same way as I did the first one. I did it on my domestic machine - the Janome with wavy lines using a walking foot.

I added one extra row to the length and one extra row to the width, PLUS I added an extra white border to the outside of the pieced border next to the binding.

Let me show you the first one.

You can see that this one is a 5x6 layout.

I made this new one a 6x7 layout but I added the outer white border because I didn’t want to bind it directly against the scrappy border - at least this time.

You can also see I had to make the inner white border different widths in order to get the math to work out right since I made it a 6×7 layout instead of 5×6 as the original pattern.

I really wanted the width the extra white border gave me as well.

And just for fun, I put this Apple-licious quilt into an apple orchard! We have a lot of these here in Poland.

It looks super nice in this setting! No, just kidding. It looks very great, period! I like it - and am very glad I made the quilt a bit bigger.

Here is my Lori Holt series so far!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
